The Henleaze Society endeavours to support the needs and
aspirations of all those who travel to and from the area. This
includes bus routes and timetables, cycle routes and facilities for
pedestrians and leisure walkers. If you have comments, or
complaints contact the relevant transport authority but we will always
be glad to hear your views. Below are some of the main sources of
local transport information. They will be updated as and when it
becomes necessary.

Local Bus routes and timetables

First Bus
54:Cribbs Causeway - Stockwood Via Southmead, Henleaze Lake, Henleaze
Road, Northumbria Drive, North View, The Downs, Blackboy Hill, Clifton
Down Station, Whiteladies Road, Park Street, Centre, Temple Meads station
and Knowle. NB:This service is being simplified with changes to
Service 54A in Charlton Road and Filton West. Buses will also be more
evenly spaced on shared sections of the route with Service 1. More

20:Rookery Farm - Southmead Via Knowle, Temple Meads station
(from 29 Nov 09), Centre, BRI, Kingsdown Parade, Cranbrook Road, Kings
Drive, Bishop Road, Kellaway Avenue, Wellington Hill West, Henleaze
Lake and Westbury Village.
From 10 May 2009 services at peak times reduced to approximately
every half an hour. Off-peak and weekends unchanged
From 29 November 2009:
- Frequency improved when buses on route 21
were rerouted to route 20 between Kellawy Avenue/Bishop Road and
Cranbrooke Road/Clare Avenue.
- Buses rerouted along Redcliffe Way, Temple
Gate and Bath Road.
- Additional stop - Redcliffe Way, St Mary
Redcliffe. Tt from Henleaze, Tn to Henleaze.
- Additional stop - Temple Gate (for Temple
Meads Station) - same as route 54. Tf from Henleaze, Tj to
Henleaze.

Filton Church, Southmead Hospital, Henleaze Lake and Westbury Village.
518: Emerson Green - Shirehampton via Frenchay Hospital,
UWE Frenchay Campus, Bristol Parkway station, Gipsy Patch Lane,
Filton Church, Southmead Hospital, Henleaze Lake and Westbury Village.
585: The Centre - Sea Mills via Temple Meads station, Temple
Way(stop Th), Broadmead, Old Market, Eastville Park, Lockleaze, Southmead Hospital
and Westbury Village.
586: The Centre - Hotwells via Temple Meads station, Temple Way(stop
Th), Broadmead, Old Market, Eastville Park, Muller Road, Horfield
Sports Centre Dorian Road, top of Wellington Hill West, Kellaway Avenue,
Coldharbour Road, Bristol Zoo, Clifton Village, Victoria Rooms and
Jacobs Wells Road.
587: Kingswood - Hotwells via Eastville Park, Muller Road,
Horfield Sports Centre Dorian Road, top of Wellington Hill West, Kellaway
Avenue,Coldharbour Road, Bristol Zoo, Clifton Village, Victoria Rooms and
Jacobs Wells Road.

First Bus

U5 Ulink via Henleaze (Wellington Hill West,
Henleaze Lake, Henleaze Road (from 20 Nov 08) to North View, The
Downs, Blackboy Hill, Clifton Down station, Queens Road, BRI and
Broadmead. The service, to and from UWE Frenchay Campus via Filton
Avenue & Wellington Hill, is primarily for students but can be used by
members of the public. It commenced 15 Sept 08. Summer reduction in
frequency from 2009: 1st June - 11th September. ROUTE CHANGE: June
2009 Inbound service now goes via Park Street to Lewins Mead.
Outbound service returns via BRI. Inbound passengers can stay on bus
for BRI.

Local cycling routes
|
There are several local cycle routes.
These are generally not sign posted or marked on the ground but are
shown on the Council`s Bristol cycling map.

Cycle maps of Bristol and adjoining areas should be available from
Cycle shops, Henleaze Library, reception at Wilder House, Wilder
Street, (where the Council`s walking and cycling team are based) or
via our
Membership Secretary.

Bristol Ramblers Triangular City Walk
|
|
This signed walk passes through parts of Henleaze on its 18 mile Long Distance
City circuit of parts of Bristol linking Bristol Temple Meads, Sea
Mills and Redland Stations on the Severn Beach railway line. For
