Latest applications and decisions

A revised application for a shop unit on the site of a former garage in Henleaze Road has been granted.

The new application (11/02775/F) was submitted after complaints from some residents, as well as local councillors and the Henleaze Society, that the original design was not in keeping with other building in Henleaze Road and was inappropriate for the Downs Conservation Area.

The revised plan includes a Bath stone parapet and coinings and random stone with painted timber frame window frames. Planning officers are checking that the changes will be properly executed and in keeping with the surroundings.

There had been broad support for the new business - including from local councillors - as long as the conversion is in keeping with a conservation area. The shop will be for the repair of mobile phones and computers.
