The
new self-service kiosks installed at Henleaze
Library last summer are proving a big success
with the majority of customers using them.
Library Supervisor Sue
Mundy says
kiosks mean staff have more time available to deal with individual
queries from customers , reader development needs, and forging
further links with the community.
"On the whole customers have been very positive about the new
service, and for the last 2 months 92% of the items issued were done
so at the kiosks" she said.
Henleaze Library continues to be very busy. The summer months saw
some of the highest issues for many years. From July to September
49,873 people came through the
doors, 51, 979 items were issued, 24, 093 of those to
children.
"We also had over 600 children join the Summer Reading Challenge,
which more than doubles the participants last year" added Sue.
The Friends of Henleaze Library hold regular activities to
promote and support the library.
